Responsibilities: My main responsibilities in QA/QC for wooden furniture were as follows:
Laboratory Testing: Conducted laboratory quality inspections of raw materials used in production, such as wood, edge bands, paint, glue, and glass. Performed tests for sun resistance, abrasion resistance, tensile strength of edge bands, and corrosion factors of hardware, among others. Compared results against established standards and rejected non-compliant materials.
Finished Product Inspection: Inspected finished furniture to ensure quality met all specifications. Checked details such as structural integrity, aesthetics, and component functionality.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintained detailed records of all inspections and tests. Generated quality reports and presented them to managers or relevant teams.
Employee Training: Provided training to employees on quality standards and inspection methods, fostering a shared understanding of the importance of QA/QC within the team.
Cross Departmental Coordination: Coordinated with other departments, including production, procurement, and sales, to ensure quality was met. Communicated issues or suggestions for process improvement.
Reporting to Headquarters: Wrote product test reports to send back to the parent company in China.
Interpretation: Acted as a Mandarin Chinese interpreter for executives during official communications with government agencies.
