Position: Commis Chef Western Cuisine (Hot Kitchen)
In this role, my main responsibility was to support the chefs in preparing ingredients and cooking dishes according to Western culinary standards, with a strong emphasis on quality, cleanliness, and speed of service. My key duties included
Ingredient Preparation: Cutting and prepping ingredients such as meats, vegetables, and seasonings as directed by the chef, ensuring everything was ready for service.
Cooking Assistance: Assisting in the preparation of hot dishes on the line, such as steaks, pastas, and other hot meals, following established recipes and procedures.
Quality and Hygiene Control: Checking the freshness of ingredients and maintaining a clean and hygienic work area, in compliance with food safety standards.
Plating and Presentation: Supporting the final plating of dishes with attention to detail, accuracy, and timely service before delivering to customers.
Team Support: Collaborating effectively with kitchen staff, staying flexible, and performing well under pressure during busy service periods.
Following Chef Instructions & Standards: Strictly following directions given by the head chefs and always being open to learning new skills through hands-on experience.
