Job Description

• Investigated the optimal pH conditions for the growth of the probiotic microorganism L. salivarius in MRS culture medium.
• Conducted comparative cultivation of the strain between laboratory scale (Duran bottles) and a 5-liter industrial fermentation tank (Bioreactor) while maintaining automated control of pH and temperature.
• Performed freeze-drying (Lyophilization) using a Christ Epsilon 2-10D LSCplus machine to preserve the stability of the microorganisms.
• Tested and compared the efficacy of cryoprotectants, including Yeast extract, Maltodextrin, and Trehalose, to enhance the survival rate of the strain post freeze-drying process.
• Operated using aseptic techniques, measured optical density (OD600), and counted cell quantities using the drop plate method.
