Job Description

  • Blood sampling and specimen collection from patients, ensuring the quality and quantity of specimens prior to analysis - Internal Quality Control (IQC), routine maintenance, and quality assessment of reagents for automated analytical instruments - Laboratory analysis of specimens in the central laboratory, including hematology, microbiology, clinical chemistry, and immunology - Microbiology tasks involve assessing the quantity and appropriateness of specimens, culturing, staining, identifying types, and testing microbial susceptibility - Molecular biology tasks include DNA extraction and PCR analysis for HIV, HBV, HCV, CD4+ count, and hemoglobin typing - Blood bank operations involve evaluating blood donors, collecting blood from donors, centrifuging to separate blood components, storing, and verifying compatibility of blood before transfusion to patients in the hospital - Practical training at a community hospital affiliated with Uttaradit Hospital - Recording and reporting results through the hospital information system (HIS) and laboratory information system (LIS) - Notifying critical values for patients when test results exceed or fall below agreed-upon thresholds between physicians and the laboratory - Experience with automated analytical instruments such as Mindray, Cobas, Alinity, BD BACTEC FX, EXS 2600, Sensititre ARIS 2X, Vitex2 compact, BD FACS Calibur, and Variant II Hemoglobin testing.
