Senior Instrument & Control Engineer

• Main Purpose of Role: To execute work in compliance with project requirements and the Company’s quality system. To review the project execution schedule and develop detailed schedules for instrumentation design activities Responsibilities: Production and checking of documents including, but not limited to studies, calculations, reports, specifications and scope of work. To produce drawings and liaise with instrumentation designers and review drawings. Perform technical bid evaluations and review of vendor drawings. Prepare man hour estimations for tenders. Site visits. Assistance with tender packages including BOQ, tender documents, scope of work etc. Assist the Head of Department in assessing the requirements for staff training and the technical performance of staff. Assist the Head of Department in the management of the department workload. Participate in the Company’s mentoring program to assist and mentor younger, less experienced engineers. Knowledge / Experience (Skills): Preparation of man-hour estimations, FEED and tender documents. Preparation and review of specifications, data sheets, sizing calculations for flow elements, control valves and safety relief valves, technical requisitions, instrument schedule, I/O Schedule, Cause and Effect diagrams, logic diagrams, loop diagrams, hook-up diagrams, instrument interconnection diagrams, instrument location drawings, cable routing drawings and bills of material. Must have knowledge in the selection and specification for control and automation systems, (DCS, PLC, SCADA, HMI), flow metering skids, on-line analyzers, ESD Systems, fire and gas detection systems, telecommunication and public address systems, access control systems etc. Review of vendor documents and drawings. Knowledge of field testing procedures and field test equipment. Knowledge of safety instrumented systems and SIL assessment studies and report preparation. Familiarity with international codes, standards and regulations in process instrumentation and control engineering. Qualifications: Bachelor or Higher degree in Instrument Report writing skills. Must possess strong interpersonal skills to be able to coordinate in a multi disciplinary environment. Be able to motivate and provide technical guidance to a team of engineers. Ability to communicate with senior management. Ability to communicate with, and develop long term relationships with clients. Software Skills MS Access Auto CAD Math CAD In Tools MS Office
