Data Engineer (Big Data/BI/ML)

• Lumentum IT is looking for Data Engineer (Big Data/BI/Machine learning) to develop and maintain data/analytical solutions in the manufacturing of semiconductor wafers. Our data warehouse in built on Big Data technologies (Hadoop platform). Strong experience and skill set required in any of the (or more) areas below, - Hands on experience with data processing in Hadoop environment using Spark, Python, Map-Reduce or any other equivalent scripts. - Hands on experience with data analysis/visualization using Tableau, Qlik or equivalent tool OR open source tools such as R, R Shiny, Plotly, Fusioncharts or equivalent. - Experience with building statistical/machine learning models. Responsibilities: - Work with product engineering, operations, and executive team to understand data, structures, define information needs and develop prototype/solutions that supports desired business and technical capabilities. - As a Big Data Engineer you will utilize programming tools such as Spark/Python and other Hadoop ecosystem tools (e.g. Hive, Sqoop etc) to bring together a diverse and massive set of data sources and making them easily accessible and useful for further analysis. - Collaborate closely with business SME’s, data scientists, executives to create dashboards, visualizations, statistical/machine learning models, transfer prototypes into large scale and efficient solutions. - Explore emerging technologies in Big Data, and analytics landscape for consideration and implementation. - Optimize, tune, and scale the Hadoop ecosystem, working with Architects, to meet SLA requirements. - Perform troubleshooting and in-depth analysis of issues and provide clear, permanent solutions. - You are curious, have a research mindset, love bringing logic and structure to loosely defined unstructured problems and ideas. - Ability to effectively work independently/motivated; ability to handle multiple priorities Requirements: - Bachelors with 1-3+ years of experience or Master’s Degree in information management, data science, computer science, industrial, mechanical engineering or equivalent. - 1 to 5 years of experience in enterprise landscapeExpertise in Enterprise Reporting, Data Warehousing and analytics architecture - Hands on experience with data processing in Hadoop environment using Spark/Python in Hadoop ecosystem OR - Hands on experience with data analysis/visualization using Tableau, Qlik or equivalent tool OR open source tools such as R, R Shiny, Plotly, Fusioncharts etc OR - Experience with statistical/machine learning models. - Functional experience in manufacturing/supply chain/operations is plus - AWS: Hadoop on EC2, S3, and Redshift experience preferred - Excellent oral/written/presentation skills in English
