GIS Supervisor

หน้าที่และความรับผิดชอบ

• • use a range of GPS tools in the field to capture the location of 'assets' such as bridges, street lights, road barriers and flood defenses • undertake desk-based data capture (digitizing) to convert paper maps to GIS datasets to, for example, record the location of telecoms cables or water pipelines from original maps. • create and maintain the structures necessary for GIS data storage • develop tools for loading/transferring GIS data between different systems • manipulate, analyses and present geographical information by creating programs to convert GIS information from one format to another • develop internet apps to present GIS data and tools on corporate websites • use tools to join together different GIS datasets and create new information or investigate patterns, e.g. estimating the number of people potentially affected by flooding, using population growth figures and planning information to estimate increasing/decreasing demand for school capacity or calculating the number of potential customers for a new supermarket and predicting buying patterns based on socio-economic factors.

• • Experience in remote sensing for agricultural, land cover mapping and monitoring • Experience in conducting large-scale data analysis through all project phases and entire project lifecycles (understanding business requirements, project definition, formulating analytical approaches, performing data development, extraction, and exploration, statistical analyses and algorithm development and testing, and interpreting and presenting findings and results). • A full-featured GIS platform, such as the ESRI suite of products, including ArcGIS, or QGIS (or similar), R, Python, SQL, as well as relational database management systems. • Data management, processing, and analysis to draw insights from large or complex data sets. • Advanced mathematics and statistical techniques and concepts (linear algebra, regression and geographically weighted regression, probability distributions and functions, statistical tests and their proper usage) and experience with their applications. • Creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
