SENIOR IT SUPPORT (ERP SPECIALIST)

• RESPONSIBILITIES 1) ERP: Leads the installation/implementation, upgrade and maintenance of ERP applications, databases, middleware and servers, including installing new software releases and system upgrades, evaluating and installing patches and conducting database migrations, refreshes and restores. Meets business requirements and objectives by developing and implementing ERP modification and/or configuration changes. Plans, designs and develops database servers and application servers in a multi-stance environment. Implements and maintains the architecture necessary for ERP integration with other application systems, including those on Cloud and related to CRM and e-commerce. Leads projects to architect, implement or enhance and test ERP systems and applications to meet dynamic business needs. Performs complex configuration, change management and testing activities to support a manufacturing and trading-oriented architecture and integration between all applications. Troubleshoots and resolves complex technical problems with ERP systems, including those related to application, database and server. Manages the integrity of security design and engineering for ERP applications and systems, including the implementation of backup and recovery processes. Administers ERP systems security measures to protect data, software and hardware. Participates in the development of database-related application development standards covering database creation, software placement, storage and auditing. Plans and implements operating procedures for backup of database and recovery of database information. Determines future growth requirements of the applications in areas such as database size, number of end-users and application functionality; works with other information technology professionals to address application capacity needs. Ensures the performance and reliability of ERP system by monitoring the system for high availability, effective load balancing and satisfactory response time; works with other IT professionals to resolve performance issues. Monitors third party tools for application and database performance, provides recommendations for enhancements/changes and makes database table changes/additions to packaged software applications. Prepares users by designing/conducting training programmes and providing technical support. Provides programming/scripting assistance to support ERP system automation; debugs and tunes/optimises SQL statements. Provides technical support regarding project design, scheduling, methods and information related to facility and equipment needs. Adheres to Epicor standards by maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of Epicor best practices. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies. Protects operations by keeping information confidential. 2) System and Network Maintenance Installs and configures hardware operating systems and applications. Monitors and maintains computer systems, networks and communication systems. Troubleshoots system and network problems and diagnoses and solves hardware and software faults in a timely manner. Replaces parts as required. Provides recommendation on software and hardware acquisition to meet growing business needs. Provides IT training to staff. Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics and/or equivalent technical training and work experience. Experience: 3 years of overall IT experience Minimum of 1 years experience in software solution implementation Any experience in business consulting viewed as a plus.
