ABOUT US
• Software -
o install and test new software
o make software available to appropriate users
o ensure anti-virus software is installed, kept up to date and working properly on all stations
o share files/ software as required by staff for pupil and teacher use
• Hardware
o check new computer equipment on arrival and install as appropriate
o liaise with the designated person responsible for the maintenance of the inventory
o liaise with the designated person responsible for portable appliance electrical safety testing
o maintain computer peripheral equipment such as scanners, printers, whiteboards, projectors; ensure that these are prepared and ready to be used
o assist the ICT Director in the deployment of computer hardware around the school
o keep a log of all technical faults
o liaise with external support agencies
o liaise with external suppliers for the repair of equipment under warranty or maintenance contract
• Network Management
o Establishes system by planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of PC and server hardware, software, LAN and WAN networks, operating and system management systems, defining system and operational policies and procedures (knowledge of Linux and Windows )
o Secure system by developing system access, monitoring, control and evaluation, establishing and testing disaster recovery policies and procedures, completing back-up, maintaining documentation.
o Providing users references and support
o Maintain system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting system hardware, software, network, operating and system management systems
• General duties and responsibilities
o Protect organisation’s value by keeping information confidential
o Arrive punctually
o Maintain an appropriate dress code at school
o To uphold the image of Ascot International School both in and out of school
