Responsible

Support inquiry-based learning by providing resources that align with Units of Inquiry and classroom investigations.

Collaborate with teachers to plan research activities and lessons that develop students’ inquiry and information skills.

Teach students information literacy skills, including how to find, evaluate, and use information responsibly.

Promote a love of reading by recommending books, organizing reading programs, and creating engaging library displays.

Curate and manage a diverse and balanced library collection that reflects multiple cultures, perspectives, and reading levels.

Support the development of Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, particularly research and communication skills.

Guide students in digital literacy, including safe and responsible use of online resources and technology.

Maintain the library as a flexible learning space that supports independent reading, collaboration, and research.

Ensure library resources support the IB programme and Programme of Inquiry (POI) across grade levels.

Knowledge and competence qualifications

Knowledge of library management and cataloging systems.

Understanding of books, reference materials, and digital resources.

Familiarity with educational resources for different student age groups.

Knowledge of information literacy and research methods.

Basic knowledge of computer systems, library software, and online databases.

Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills when working with students and teachers.

Ability to assist students with research and information searches.

Skills in managing library resources and circulation systems.

Ability to promote reading and learning activities in the library.

Basic technology and digital literacy skills.

Ability to work independently and maintain a quiet, productive environment.
